Hey everyone! I just want to apologize for not having written a blog entry recently. We're in the interim period between the summer and fall terms right now, and I've been busy with UGA training and rehearsing and taking care of some business to get the Cords ready for Orientation and auditions, which are coming up next Tuesday. Once all this craziness is over (and the REAL craziness begins with the start of the term), I'll be back in the office and will resume posting. Until then, I hope all is well!

Welcome!
Hi everybody. Glad you made it to my blog. I'm a Dartmouth '09, which means I'll be graduating this June, and I've been an intern in the admissions office since last summer. Since then, I've been writing (semi-) regular blog posts to help give prospective students a better idea of what life at Dartmouth is like.
Here at Dartmouth, I am a government major, concentrating in international relations, and an environmental studies minor. Basically, I'm interested in the implications of global climate change for U.S. national security. I also spent my sophomore winter studying French in Toulouse, France on one of Dartmouth's Language Study Abroad programs.
Of course, academics are but a small part of life here. I've sung with the Cords, an all male a cappella ensemble, for the past four years and have served as the group's President and Business Manager. In addition to working for admissions this summer, I'm also doing some research for a newly-formed men's discussion group that examines heterosexual men's issues through the feminist lens using popular culture materials. This year I was a Rocky Senior Leadership Fellow and met weekly with other fellows and leaders from a variety industries to critically discuss contemporary leadership issues. In the fall, I was fortunate enough to be welcomed as a Dickey Center War and Peace Fellow as well. I also work as a stage manager for Hopkins Center Productions, as a Research Assistant for Professor Paul Christesen, and as an Undergraduate Adviser. I've been a proud volunteer Big Brother since my freshman winter, an activity that has proven to be one of my most worthwhile. Finally, during freshman summer, I had the time of my life biking across the country with an organization called Bike and Build, raising money and awareness for affordable housing.
